Last night we experienced our first snow in Oxford. It was lovely. However, by this morning the temperature warmed up quite a bit, and I walked to church in three inches of slush. By the time I got there, my feet were happily swimming in puddles inside my very unwaterproof boots. Now I have very wrinkly toes, but even this included today was great.
This semester I decided to actually attempt to take a Sabbath on Sundays. Scandalous, I know. I didn’t really think it would be possible to actually do no school work for an entire day. But it’s been absolutely great. I have been enjoying Sundays so much. I love not having a schedule for what I have to do. Instead I just get to take whatever opportunity comes up and be with whoever I’m with. I’ve found that after Sundays, I’m so full of joy and excited for life that everything gets done during the week just as it needs too. So far so good.
This week the Oxford Christian Union is hosting an event called ‘This Is Jesus’, which means that exciting speakers are coming to town, like Timothy Keller. Hopefully I’ll have a chance to hear him speak this week.
I finally took my first pictures of Oxford today! Took long enough, I know, but I’m glad to have some.
